Woke up early. Raining. Repacked cars. Forged G and D's signatures. Spent awhile at a pricey grocery store. Bubba's for breakfast. Then off to Yellowstone.
The drive up to the park through Targhee National Forest and Teton National Park was beautiful! Also beautiful was when Loretta flung our newly acquired Yellowstone map out the window, screamed, and claimed, "The wind stole it!" It's a $750 fine. And we're mapless.
More bad news: every single campsight in Yellowstone was filled. We drove back to Teton and ended up at a nice campsite with showers, water, etc. We girls graciously sacrificed our Badger colored tent-mansion to the boys and took up residence in a small rent in order to make it all work. Good job us, girls. It'll be cozy tonight for everyone :)
This afternoon, we drove a little over an hour into Yellowstone backwoods on a very curve, hilly dirt road (hello carsick!) to a trail head leading to a massive waterfall in the forest. Amazingly beautiful! We sang lots of old school Sunday School songs and took some nice photos.
This evening, Berek engineered us a lean-to and made everyone dinner. I decided that we should write a play based on the experiences of our trip. Casting is as follows:
Derek- Richard Karn
Sarah- Amanda Bynes
Reed- Michael Vartan
Loretta- Amanda Peet
Greg- Paul Bettany
Josh- Jake Gyllenhaal
You will all be expected to fund our venture through performance and DVD sales ;)
Tomorrow, we'll be breaking camp very early to attempt to procure sites in Yellowstone once again.
Tunes: bluegrass (Allison Krauss and Nickelcreek)
PS- brand new quote! "I'm feeling some vibrations toward the bathroom!"
So glad to hear you are having fun. Love the buffalo picture.(even if I don't know him :)
ReplyDeleteIn the casting line up who would be playing Miss Em? Jennifer Morrison...? LYD
